Yoga is the thread that runs through all of the support I offer. It’s an entire system for total life transformation. Not everyone realizes that the poses that have become most associated with the term “yoga” in the United States is only a very small part of a much larger structure.
Yoga is a process that shows us how to release our suffering. It encourages us to care for our physical and emotional health. It helps us get to the truth by showing us how to uncover inaccurate (and unconscious) perceptions we hold about ourselves, others, and the world, and pointing us toward the ultimate truth. It shows us how to create harmony in our relationships and encourages us to give freely of ourselves to help reduce the suffering in others through “Seva” (selfless service), resulting in a strong sense of purpose and meaning in our lives.
Without distractions like poor physical health, insomnia, intense chronic pain, low energy, obsessive thoughts, emotional turbulence, disharmonious relationships, poor decision-making, and a lack of purpose and meaning, it is much more possible for us to pay our unwavering, sustained attention toward what matters most in our lives. This level of attention results in our being more productive, more understanding, and more connected to what, or who, we’re focused on. This helps us uncover our deepest, most pure desires for ourselves, others, and the world, and allows us to move more quickly, and more assuredly, in their direction.
The term “Yoga” means to yoke, join, unite. The end goal of all of these amazing, transformational life changes is the ability to experience the oneness, wholeness, and bliss of the mind, body, and spirit connection.
